While I was one of the many people on twitter last night who found the Royal Rumble match outcomes disappointing, I don’t want to say I’m “boycotting” Raw tonight. However… I can’t possibly sit through three hours of hype for a rematch I don’t want to see. Cena vs. Rock Part Two? No thanks. Granted, anything could still happen and Cena could still challenge Del Rio for his title, but somehow after last night’s Pay Per View I don’t think they’ll be going in an unpredictable route.
To be fair though, all the other times I’ve sworn off WWE (when Khali became champ in 2007, Daniel Bryan getting fired in 2010, CM Punk losing to Triple H at Night of Champions 2011, to name a few…) I went back pretty quick. So that’s why I’m not going to say I’m “boycotting” Raw tonight, I’m just going to make a concentrated effort to watch it later through DVR. Except when Punk, Ziggler, and Jericho are on. And Daniel Bryan.

I love this strip simply because of the anti-PG except Chikara T-shirt.
I haven’t seen any WWE since WrestleMania. You’re my only source on anything going on in WWE and I like it that way.
Yea…I won’t boycott it either since I’ll be watching it anyways. It’s cool though, I usually play video games or something during Cena segments.
I don’t normally swear off of WWE, especially when they piss me off like they did at the Rumble, but I managed to do so when I said I wasn’t going to watch Money in the Bank 2012 because I KNEW Cena was gonna win the Raw case. And he DID.
I also have the extra advantage of being far too busy with projects to watch TV anyway, so I said I wasn’t going to watch not only Raw tonight, but Wrestlemania in 69 days. I MEAN IT
Lol!!!!
I would totally buy that Nuclear Heat t-shirt. That’s awesome.
The first step is admitting you have a problem.
As for me, since Raw was the only real reason to have a cable subscription anymore, I canceled my cable and I won’t be watching it tonight, or any other WWE programming anytime in the near future.
I can never get away from it completely, of course. I’ll pick up a Hulu Plus subscription to cover the other shows I’d otherwise miss without cable, and that’s unfortunately going to come with access to Smackdown and partial access to Raw, WHICH I WILL NOT WATCH. I did remove most WWE content from my Facebook and Twitter feeds, but I’ll still want to check out various online forums from time to time, to get a feel for what’s going on. Because I don’t want to have to quit forever. What I want is for the product to get better. But for now, it is a contemptible failure and I won’t waste hours of my time every week on complete crap.
Good thing I can actually say I haven’t watched a RAW since November…except for last week…
Is it OK that I’m laughing at a lot of you? “I’ll read this webcomic about WWE, but don’t worry because I AM NOT WATCHING RAW!!!! SERIOUSLY GUYS!!!!!”
I’m a wrestling fan. A WWE fan. I watch Raw, Impact, and occasionally go to my local indie promotion. I am not ashamed of it. Not to say I love everything and am above making fun of it or criticizing every once in a while, but I think people need to stop worrying so much about one guy they don’t like and try to enjoy the show.
Wait so you’re laughing at us because we read a comic about wrestling, yet say we’re not watching RAW, to counteract the comic?
Why are you laughing at us again?
Maybe if people stopped booing Cena, and instead, went to the bathroom during his segments(live on location at RAW, so they can’t edit it out), they might get the idea. Sure, it’s annoying to have all the “Let’s go Cena” chants going unchallenged, but if half the crowd just flat-out ignores him… Think X-Pac heat.
I HAVE BEEN SAYING THIS FOR AGES NOW !
instead of going “CENA SUCKS!” whenever we hear a “let’s go cena” chant, we should be cheering the guy fighting cena (no matter who he is) !!!
I mean it would be 100 times better than “let’s go cena/CENA SUCKS” if it was for example “let’s go cena/LET’S GO BRYAN” !!!
You know, I’m bummed out about the Rumble aftermath, honestly. I have no interest in Cena/Rock II. But holy crap, you’d think they threw Punk off the roof of the building the way everyone is getting worked up. I think my only protest will be to take the 60-something dollars I would be spending on Wrestlemania (for real, I do actually pay for PPVs… usually) and buy some indie DVDs instead. I hear those CHIKARA folks are pretty cool.
That Anti-PG (except Chikara) shirt made me laugh.
I just wanted a 500 day reign
Also when Ziggler mentioned wanting to unify the titles at Wrestlemania I was like ‘YES! Do that! Do that!’ Really all this disappointment is Ziggy’s fault for getting my hopes up.
Funnily the Royal Rumble was the first PPV I’ve gotten since Extreme Rules. I sort of boycotted when they raised the prices to $35 (I know that’s a lot cheaper than the US/other places, but that’s not the point). Was still worth the money despite the Twice in a Lifetime thing.
Rock vs Cena II
Can’t wait!!!!
Gonna break records!!!!
Bullbutter, by the way.
Bullbutter.
Ziggler, Jericho, Punk & Heyman were awesome.
Cole was horrible – his terrible laugh and making disgusting comments aimed at Striker that he tried to pretend were part of his character – I don’t know why other announcers hate Striker so much, as I really liked him (along with other friends) as he had the most interesting commentary.
It’s funny because this is kinda how I handled the whole thing.
Haha, I only watch when Brock Lesnar, CM Punk, and/or Paul Heyman is on, otherwise I turn the TV off.
