Jinder Mahal winning the number one contender spot on Smackdown LIVE last Tuesday was more of a “shakeup” than any draft could ever be. Do you remember the last time the man won a match? I sure don’t! Kalisto, a Smackdown jobber, is sent to Raw and dumped in the trash. Jinder, a Raw jobber, is sent to Smackdown and earns a World Title shot.
Now look- I don’t have any problem with Yuvraj Singh “Raj” Dhesi, the man who portrays Jinder Mahal. I don’t have a problem with the character. But you would think WWE would’ve tried to turn his win loss record around the tiniest little bit before putting him in this spot! I hope it works out for him and the Bollywood Boyz, but I think WWE have made it a long shot by having him be a joke for so long before this.
