I mark out for Daniel Bryan. I know it’s typical IWC to do so, especially when he’s a heel, but I can’t help it! However, I do feel like the WWE is trying everything they can to get all of their fans to hate him, and I think with his controlling abusive boyfriend gimmick it might actually work. When he lectures an audience on being vegan it’s fun and silly, especially to anyone who knows he only lives that lifestyle for health reasons. And when he gets cheap wins over Big Show, it’s always through crafty heel tactics. Both of those things are easy to mark out for at home or at a live show. But when he tells poor little AJ to shut up, I don’t know that I could cheer for him if I was sitting in the audience. Obviously he’s only acting like a jerk as part of his role on the show, but I if I were sitting out in the crowd I think I’d feel a little awkward clapping for him after he talks down to her. Maybe it’s because she looks like she’s twelve. Maybe it’s because he looks like a crazy person. Either way, next time I go to a live event I think I’ll stick to booing him. I mean it still looks good for him, right?

I hope that AJ will get pushed as a result of this angle, but so far it’s been fairly poor overall. With the way WWE is booking Bryan, I find myself caring about AJ’s role in the storyline more than I do about Daniel.
I hate Daniel Bryan (as in “I would gladly pay money to see him getting his ass kicked”), but his “YES! YES! YES!” never ceases to make me chuckle.
The way he jumps around continuously yelling “YES!” is the very definition of small name big ego. I absolutely love his classic-heel tactic of rage-quitting. In a trollish way, he makes the title seem more valuable by caring so much about it. Also, if you think about it for a bit, it’s very obvious that a lot of his heel mannerisms were either learned or adopted from the Miz(who in turn probably learned from even older guys, or of course, DB could have learned from those guys, skipping the Miz).

I damn near pissed myself laughing so hard after watching Smackdown. AJ barely squeaks out a victory K2-style, and D-Bry’s in there even before his music hits, screaming YES! all over the place. And one more for good measure after sending her out of the ring…
The Dusty finish to the Kingston/Otunga match was pretty good too. Classic “Heel alliance tries a trip/distraction, face alliance turns it around, fair play”.
