Just when I find myself impressed with THQ’s ability to stay updated with the current wrestler appearances and entrance music when playing as CM Punk in “WWE ’12″, I then see Mark Henry and it sets me back. It feels like he’s been a heel forever… or maybe I’m just trying to forget his run as a face.
Thank goodness you can adjust the colour options of the superstars. Heel Mark Henry ftw!
Does Henry still have that awful red hue if you try to make the singlet black like in SVR11?
They’ve messed up what could have been a good game.
I don’t think their inability to predict the future exactly ‘messed up’ the game. It’s a little snapshot in time, or so I like to think when CM Punk comes out to a chorus of boos.
I think that anyone would want to forget Mark Henry’s run as a face. From Mae Young to MVP I’ve felt for an extremely long time that Mark was underutilized and could have been a great monster heel and he’s proving me right. Any big man who can say that they had a great PPV match with the Big Show is Hall of Fame bound. Sure they couldn’t follow it up the following month but hopefully TLC will be another good match.
As for WWE ’12 I haven’t played yet but to say that the game is messed up because of the lack of “future booking” is like saying Madden 11 sucks cause the Panthers don’t have Cam Newton. It is always going to be outdated but it is our job as owners of the WWE Universe to change and evolve the product. I look forward to finally being able to have a championship match with the superstars I want, when I want. Also look forward to superstars actually winning money in the bank if I choose the opponents at the last minute. That was severely lacking from last year’s game.
You can change his singlet to be black, but he still has the same charming smile. Actually with WWE 12 I was pleasantly surprised to see that Sin Cara was in it. Since he’s only been around since last Spring I wasn’t really expecting him to make it.
This game blew me away……with how awful they made the controls and Road To Wrestlemania not to mention the new pin system is a pain. The gender restriction is still there so no Beth Phoenix in a Royal Rumble like she did in 2010. It seems like they put so much time and effort on making the game look better than actually play better. I bought this game Monday and I’m already tempted to get rid of it and I stood by WWE games when they made All Stars which got boring after a while and when they started incorporating the PG rating into the games but this one is pretty bad. I’d suggest a patch to bring back the control scheme and pin options from the older titles but they probably won’t.
@George : 1) If you think the controls are awful, you’re crap at the game – blaming controls is no excuse.
2) RTWM is better. Sure, the constant cutscenes are annoying but it’s still better than playing as Cena as he wins 3 on 1 handicap matches or watching Undertakers magic powers as with previous RTWM’s.
3)There isn’t a new pin system
Don’t forget the guy with a mask claiming they’re Kane.
