Wrestler Reprints- 1950!

One of the very first “Heel Turn” comics! Printed during the peak of the Red Scare in wrestling AND in comics (thanks “Doctor” Wertham…) the wrestling magazine that published this was forced to shut down not long after this comic saw the light of day. It wasn’t because of the commie subject matter, but rather the use of the word “whizbang” and the way the officer’s nightstick is pointing at the father’s butt. I guess people see what they want to see!
And of course I couldn’t use insider terms in print back in those days, what with kayfabe and all, hence the reason for “something villainous” rather than “heel turn”. So looking at it now I guess it’s just a comic about a jerky little kid and has nothing to do with wrestling. Oh well.
