When Kevin Nash came out as a surprise entrant in the 2011 Royal Rumble plenty of people including myself marked out hard. Then when he started making part time appearances on Raw later in the year everyone lost interest fairly quickly. It was with this in mind that I cringed when I saw the news tidbit about Vader wanting to make a comeback after his Raw outing last Monday. As much as I loved seeing him back out there beating up Heath Slater, I don’t think people would receive him that well night after night if he started back up full time. Maybe it’s just me, but I’m hoping Vader Time is only once every few months at most.

Thing is, Vader still can go for someone his age, he’s still agile and got “it”. Nash is on the other hand, is younger than him (?), but can’t wrestle out of a paper bag nowadays.
I thought the same thing. It was a win to see Vader, but also a fail, when there’s so many guys under contract who deserve a shot…. but I get why it was done.
Managerial role, maybe? He looked as big as ever, but more ripple and less ripped.
Vader vs Ryback?
Make it happen, WWE!
Good point Hornsby…Vader time will need to reduced to “part time” at most with very limited apperances…if people didnt know Nash, welll good luck old dog…
I’m all for Vader in some active role on TV every week. Maybe it’s time to call up his son from FCW?
Nash always sucked though.
we dont need vader his time is up
He didn’t look too bad, though he had trouble getting up the ring steps…
and while it was cool to see him out there, I’m assuming his “comeback” means wrestling indy shows
Ugh…I hadn’t heard any news about a full-time comeback. I think one-off nostalgia appearances are the only way to go. He looked good on Monday night, but he looked “good” for a dude pushing-70, not for an active competitor.
He’d need to lose a considerable amount of weight and be willing to go back on the road for the bulk of the year. At the end of the day, it’d be to find himself in mid-card (at best) role. He could be used to put over a young talent if they tried to kick new life into the “Legend Killer” gimmick for one of their new young studs.
Otherwise, make him a manager at best and a once or twice a year surprise opponent and nothing more. Give him the legends deal and use him the way you use Slaughter and Hacksaw and Piper and those cats, but don’t turn him into a regular.
Personally, I’d LOVE to see him kick the Funkettes to the curb and take over as Brodus Clay’s “advisor” or something. Teach him how to be a gigantic, world-destroying monster. Hell he could pull in Mark Henry when he comes back and Husky Harris or something and make a stable out of gigantic monsters, led by one of the original gigantic monsters.
Vader needs to spend more time in the gym of The White Castle Of Fear.
@ Graves. Too bad Harris has dropped a insane amount of weight and is working under a new gimmick. That new gimmick is a boss though.
And I like the new Brodus we have seen on Smackdown since his move there. The blend of serious and comical strangely work. At least for me.
You guys do watch the show right? Cole said “Superstars from the past are going to be returning on the Raws leading up to episode 1000″ or somthing along those lines. I doubt he is making a full time return, he was just starting things off. It’s amazing WWE can give us somthing as awesome as Vader return and the Smark community can make it into some big terrible thing in less then a day.
i was there! i got the you still got it chant started! (and the goldberg chant)
