I was really pulling for Smackdown. I really, really was. In the old days of the brand split, it was a haven for wrestling when Raw insisted on having “celebrity” guest hosts, “celebrity” “matches”, and the like. The first post-split Raw this week was one of the best Raw’s I’ve seen in a long time, with long matches that mattered, new faces being pushed, and a title change that warmed even the smarkiest of hearts. Smackdown wasn’t terrible, but the lack of info on Tag Team Titles or a Women’s Title was frustrating, and the tiny roster was even tinier once that battle royal started. I mean, a Heath Slater promo was one of the highlights! We can do better, Smackdown. I know we can.
