I’m not the biggest Flintstone’s fan on the planet, so before doing the comic I did a little research (this comic is serious stuff!) and found this link: http://www.straightdope.com/columns/read/905/in-the-flintstones-what-was-barney-rubbles-job

In it they say that early on it was never clear what actual job Barney had, but, “In later years Barney settled into a more comfortable existence working with Fred at the quarry. In one episode he was even made Fred’s boss by Mr. Slate, the head honcho.” It was around this time that Cena went back in time to Bedrock to eat cereal (according to Botched Spot continuity, of course!).

Plenty of suitable employees in wrestling though. The Rock, Heath Slater, Stone Cold…
