So it turns out that the big scuffle between Vader and Harley Race that was reported on a few days ago was only a couple of good friends greeting each with some old fashioned slaps to the back. It’s amazing how dirt sheets can blow things out of proportion without the slightest concern over what’s true. It’s almost like they’re trying to be real news.

lol the last picture has Bleacher Report written all over it.
Reasons I never read dirt sheet 1 through 10.
As much as I actually like Bleacher Report, I have to agree with that.
Wow, would’ve of known that if it wasn’t for this comix…brings light to the issue…sad thing is, I’d say 60-65% of what on dirt sheets IMO are generally true (including wrestling results).
And that’s an amazing embellishment seeing as though the author not only added that H. Race punched Vader, but also that Vader reacted, but instead of hitting Harley, he hit a staff member lol!
Thank you!
I was standing inches away from them when the incident supposedly happened, which, btw, is exactly panel 1! When I got home, I saw all the reports about the incident, and I was like …. Um no, not what happened. When I posted the account of the real version, some “wrestling news” blog didn’t like the real life version of the account–conflicted with their “news”– so they deleted it within seconds every time I posted it on their site.
It is uncanny how dead on you are with this one! Were you there too?
Here is what I would posted on any site running the “story”, but, like I said, many didn’t like the real version…as I guess fiction can be more fun than facts sometimes!:
I find it amusing how things get so blown out of proportion. I was standing next to Race and Vader when this “supposedly happened.” If you want the “real” story, from an unbiased 3rd party, it went down like this: Vader was sitting in a chair at his table doing autographs and such. Race was brought in mid-day for a short signing/pic stint. Vader was seated at the end of the table, which meant he would have to get up and move for Race to get by. For the record, Race was NOT on a scooter, and wasn’t even using a cane, I don’t know why the original person felt the need to make it sound like Race was wheeled out of an old age home. Anyways, Race and his family walk up to the table, and Race gives Vader a smack on the back–a hello, wrestler style. Vader was caught a little off guard and had no clue who did it, so he was like what the F? He turned around and saw it was Race, and Race laughed and said hello. Vader was like why the F did you do that? Race was already moved past him getting in to his seat. Vader says “F this, I am out of here.” In reality, he went to the bathroom. He came back a few minutes later when he was “done.” While on his was back from the bathroom, he felt the need to demonstrate on the “other guy” to show him what Race did. The “other guy” was like … oww … that FN hurt. Vader responds: that’s how Race did it. Vader returns to the table and nothing further is said. Five minutes later, the announcer gets on the PA and says it is time for the Race and Vader professional photo opp, which was set up in the hallway. Race and Vader get up and sit inches away from one another and take DOZENS of photos with fans — not really a “step in to the hallway to ‘have words’” as reported. When the photos are done, both return to the table and all continued going well. So, to sum it all up, Race did not PUNCH Vader in the FACE, Race SLAPPED Vader on the BACK OF THE NECK. Vader was NOT belligerent rather surprised and a tad annoyed. Vader DID NOT swing back. RACE was not in a motorized scooter. And finally they DID NOT step in to the hallways to “have words.”
If ANYONE has video that shows otherwise, or even claims to have video, I would be totally surprised and would LOVE to be shown otherwise. Granted, the RACE punches VADER in face is a much more “newsworthy” way of spinning this, but in the end, it was a slight misunderstanding at a small wrestling themed convention in NJ!
I see the next 1 being Sting hugging Luger at the TNA HOF last Saturday becomes Sting and Luger in a love relationship
That’s a good convention name, I laughed.
Thanks! It took me a little while to come up with “Catch as Catch Con”.
@Ed Nope, I wasn’t at the convention, but I’m glad my comic was so close to the real thing! I just read about it and your response on Lords of Pain and guessed the rest. So, thanks for being so descriptive!
Haha– so I in some way contributed to this weeks’s comic?
Haha I laughed out loud (literally) for Catch as Catch Con…genius…love looking forward to these every MWF
Hornsby – You must read Ewrestlingnews. You nailed it!
lol XD
yeah I thank god I quit reading the dirt sheets !
Bleacher Report, heh.
Site is good for getting news and, if you dare, reading some articles. It’s not the exposure to different opinions that is dangerous – that is something that you should always try to do – but the BADLY and IGNORANTLY formed and expressed opinions.
Check out ringsidenews.com…..pretty good
I must say well done Ed and well done Hornsby. Thanks Ed for delivering the truth (something most dirt sheets don’t care about) and Hornsby for making fun of the dirt sheet sites.
@madadam81: thanks, I tried posting it on as many sites as I could find running it. My favorite was the guy that broke it up had to run and get an ice pick … Lol…an ice pick, where does one even get or use an ice pick in 2012?
